- SCHOOL OF LANGUAGE STUDIES: Dept. of Tibetan language and Literature (NEW DEPT ? 4 years This is a NEW DEPARTMENT in the institute starting from the 2010 academicyear. This course is designed to give special opportunity for Tibetanstudents who want to specialize in Tibetan language and literature. Theduration of the course is for four years ? a bridge year with 3 years ofintensive study in Tibetan language and literature. At the end of thecourse, the students who meet the requirements of the course shall beawarded a degree equivalent to an undergraduate degree from the institutewith opportunities to continue higher studies. The students will be taughtEnglish, computer applications and other relevant courses that cut acrossdepartments in the institute to provide a holistic education. This course is offered to give special opportunity for Tibetanstudents who want to specialize in Computer sciences. The duration of thecourse is for 3 years. Basically, the students will enroll in the BCAprogram of the Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, (IGNOU)and upon completion of the course earn 96 credits to be awarded the BCAdegree from IGNOU. Computer Instructors will guide the students on a regularbasis in the campus to earn the degree. In addition, the students will betaught Tibetan language and culture and other allied courses that cut acrossdepartments in the institute to provide a holistic education. Note: - In addition to the eligibility requirement, the final selection willbe based on the Common Entrance Test and Individual Interviews and groupdynamics.
